Learn About Paraben Free Skin Care Products

By Shari Swanson

Many individuals are becoming increasingly aware of their health, especially when in regards to the ingredients they may put on their body. Because of this, some are also learning about certain toxic chemicals that may prove to cause more harm than good. This is why many are turning to paraben free skin care products.

Parabens are synthetic preservatives that are commonly used throughout the beauty industry. Typical versions often include butylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben and methylparaben. They are often included in anything from the economically-price options to certain top-of-the-line ones.

Despite how many items on the market are designed to help an individual with various issues, parabens can cause different types of allergic reaction. This tends to involve anything from irritate to rashes. Some people are also becoming more concerned about them having effects on a fetus and on a female's estrogen levels, which is generally due to the way parabens mimic estrogen.

Some scientific studies are starting to show that these preservatives may lead to toxicity issues in the organ system. There are also reports showing a link with cancer, neurological and development concerns, too. This is why countries within the European Union have banned the use of certain types, especially when it comes to methylparaben.

Several parabens can be found in the same product, or there may only be one. Either way, consumers are starting to demand that companies discontinue their use. Many manufacturers are taking big leaps to meet this goal, especially due to large concerns of toxicity and potential cancer risks.

Using cosmetics makeup tips may provide other benefits, even aside from giving people the opportunity to avoid certain risks. Since the skin can absorb up to 60% of whatever may be put on it, good or bad, some feel that using certain chemicals may do more harm than good, even in the sense of beauty regimens. This is more in the sense of them causing reverse effects of anti-aging, which many items aim to fight against, among other things as well.
